First Impressions

My Candy White Leon FR Tdi is one week old and I absolutley love it. It had a hard act to follow. My previous car was a Mark 1 Leon Cupra Tdi 150. Which never failed to impress me with it's performance, good looks, reliability and miles to the gallon.

The FR is something else! It looks better, handles better but not quite so good with the miles to the gallon. On the 2 decent runs I have had so far it has managed (A and B roads with a little bit of dual carriageway) to do 47 to 48 miles to the gallon. Of course this was taking it easy (stuck behind old Sunday drivers!) and the car is not loosened up yet.

ps anybody interested the fourth picture was taken with Bamburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast in the background.

Don't worry for the fuel consumption it'll go down once you've reached 5000 - 10000 km.
I don't know about the oil though

Hi All

I took delivery of my Leon Fr 170TDi on Friday, in Zenith with 18" and conv pack, have to say having ordered in November i've been some what worried i'd made the right choice moving from a Golf GT 140 TDI that was giving me 52mpg. But once it showed up on the transporter on friday afternoon, i thought yes, drives like a dream even thou its a little harsh with the 18's on the bumps, Cheshire's roads are terrible, i must be heavy on throttle as i'm only managing 41mpg on 2 70mile motorway trips so far, mind you only 180miles on clock so far. Got a run to Solihull and one to Worcester coming in the next week so hopefully it will improve.

This is a cracking site BTW loads of top info

Does anyone else find the centre console where the handbrake is poorly designed and laid out, Golfs was much better.

I also made the change from a Mk1 Leon 150PD to my current car, and agree - find it better in every way apart from the fuel consumption!

Well I sure hope so cos got weekend tickets for BTCC at Donington and heading down Friday for the weekend. Then driving to the South of France in a couple of weeks time.

Car will be 9 weeks old on Saturday and absolutely loving it! Still have not seen any other white FR/Cupra in the area.
