bought an FK debadged grille for the car, much to my hands discomfert and pushing/pulling/tugging that stiff grille off, ive now got it off.

call me daft, but the OEM grille on it, what do you use to get it off, as it seems to be welded on and no screw hole for a screwdriver to go into.

any help would be good, thanks. as the car is sitting grille-less

David.

When i took mine off, i unscrewed the 3 bolts at the top then used a long flat bladed screwdriver to leaver the clips at the bottom off. Dont know if this is the best way, but it worked for me.

thats what i done and i got the actual full grille kit off now i need to know how to get the back bit off. as i cant seem to uncrew the black screws around it..

yep, thanks mate, dad said to use self tappets aswell, cheers

i'll post some pics up, kind of ruined the top bit of the grille facing. the red bit that houses the grille.

using the solder iron to ..well solder away the old bits and its burnt tiny holes!!!
grrr

apart from that, hack away the melted plastic, and it should be ok..

joys of modifying, gives me an excuse to smooth all my bumpers now though :p

cheers

i'll post step by step, if i took enough photos, it was a pain in the arse i must admit.
i used a soldering kit and soldered the old plastic off the grille (i now have 3 small burn marks on the upper inside of the red plastic face)

once that had all hardered overnight, i took a set of plyers and removed the melted plastic and now left with 8 or 10 holes where i am going to put self tappets in and hopefully that will secure the grille in place!

what a lot of work for a bit of black plastic [:@]

just use short screws otherwise it will make nice star dots on the outside of the painted bit - LUVVVVERLY NOT
