I was at the parts department today & I talked to the manager asking him about this specific mod. He told me that they are still waiting for the parts to arrive to Lebanon so they can test fit it. He will be keeping me updated since I have my eyes on a pair.

What software and cable are you using ? - many of the cheaper cables with copy software will not work on the MK5 correctly.

It is possible to disable the can-bus check ( light check )

Select 09 (Central Electronics)
Long Coding -> Function 07
Byte 02 Bit 2 Cold Lamp Diagnosis active


Byte 18 Bit 0 Cold Diagnosis License Plate Lights active
Byte 18 Bit 1 Cold Diagnosis Brake Lights active

Thanks for quick reply. I bought the cable from a guy here in Spain. It's a copy (I think) but let me change things lick sound when open, antifog lights when turning, etc. So I think will work here.

To be honest I dont undestand at all what do the lines mean. If I put the bit 0 from byte 18 (i.e) is disabling the diagnosis of License Plate Lights, right?
So in order to disable tail lights I must put [18,1], [18,3], [18,6], [19,2] to 0? I don't know what do function 7 mean... Never used.
Someone else?
I disabled some of those but using the helper, not the bit by bit method you porpose.

some news

Hi there, as I have no response (yet) I have been playing a bit and discovered two things:
The bits of 19th bit I am supposed to changed have no description so I am not sure if I can change them.
Second, I disabled all bits of byte 18 and then xenon started blinking (panic mode on) but I managed to restore the to their original value (thanks god I backed them up).
The error light still remains on, no way no clear it with clear all dtc's but I get no error scaning module 9-centelectr.

Any idea?

I seriously doubt Seat do different coding for Spain and UK...

You disabled all of bit 18? Why? You only need to disable bytes that relate to rear side light diagnostic

Only area you need to be in for this is byte 19

Yell I did it because I had all bits in byte 19 uncked... And thought the problem must be somewhere else.
To disable the checking the bits must be unchecked (0), right? You don't have this disabled, right?

Working perfectly mate! Never thought someone would use the logical 1 or true to disable this XD

Now DRL in cheap led doesn't throw error too

I don't know if post this here or not but just in case I ask here, if needed I will open new thread:

Does anybody know what does "CAN powertrain 'loop' active" means? Could be to disable the power of OBD2 when key is out?

YES - plug and play except for the bulb warning needing to be switched off.
