Hi All,

I've bought one of those remote central locking kits off eBay that uses little electric actuators to move the locking rods and i've come across a couple of problems:

The rear door locks are too stiff so that the rod which connects the acutator to the lock bends before the lock will move...

The front door locks have bent rods that connect to the plastic pins you push down to lock the doors so I can't get the actuator to connect to them properly.

Does anyone have any experience/advice for getting it to work?!

Thanks in advance... :)

fitted in the past using the rods that you actually pull up manually from inside the car as they usually seem to be the lightest way of actuating the lock

as for bent rods - bend the ones you are adding to match ;) as long as they move in a linear motion they'll work fine

as for bending rods on the rear are you sure you are on the correct rod ? how do you unlock them at the moment ?

Yeah, i reckon you're right about the rods to use...

The rear rods come down vertically from the plastic part that you pull on and then go to a bell-crank which causes a lot of friction. I'm currently just pulling up on the plastic part as my car has no central locking at all...

Cheers
