I am looking online at the SEAT fixed price service. My cars a 2016 FR 1.4 ecotsi with 35k on the clock. The cars only done 4k since last service. I've fitted a pipercross element lately. They do a service for £179 or for £299 the service includes spark plugs. Obviously I won't need an air filter so is it best just to get oil and filter done, maybe plugs and that's it?? Does anyone know if the fixed price service is worth it?

Well that's the thing. Car will be 5 next march. There's a local guy who specialises in vw and seems more switched on. I suppose it depends on cost difference. I know that the plugs alone are £50

I was just reading what's involved with the fixed price service. Alot of it is just checking stuff, ie the scree wash, well I do that myself lol. I'd like a stamp in the book so when it's due I'll definitely be looking at independent.

Get the correct parts from TPS and have your man to do the service independently.

Having mine done today and I've saved £130 on a full service compared to SEAT's price and that includes some other small non service related bits .

Granted I know the guy doing it so I got a small discount but even at full cost you will still save on dealer costs and you are using OEM parts which is as good as having a stamp in the book, which is no longer a thing anyway.

Ah, screen wash. My pet peeve. How many times have I had a car serviced and been billed £2 for screenwash when the bleepin' thing was topped right up before it went into the garage?
