Hi people,

Yesterday evening, when I was driving home, I noticed that the lights that illuminate the electric windows/doolock on both sides were flashing from dim to bright and bright to dim. it was not a constant flashing but more intermitant would anyone know why???

DS

it could be the dimmer switch, on dash next headlight switch! this sends power to them!
if you try adjusting it! the flicker may stop! if it does your switch may need replacing!

Mines some times dimmer, (dash, windows swicthes, console!). only when i put it on either realy low or realy high!

I don't think it would be the dimmer switch, as I understand it controls all the illuminated instruments on the dash. any more ideas

think i know it must be connection some where!
when the autowindow closer they had to take the door off! the swicth must not be plugged in correctly!

When i had my golf tinted, they neva connected the swicth for my mirrors!

so i assume this is the case,
try removing the driver side switch panel and check the connection block is firmly plugged in, and the other side then

well they only optio n you got is do a diagnostic! to see any fault that come up!
if not the alarm needs reprogramming!

Big Lad you were right it is the dimmer switch i think as when I moving the switch up or down the light started to flash how do fix the switch or get a new one.

just keep don tkepp on either too high or too low. mines flicks some times but keep it on high around 98% of d dial

Just had this start to happen on my Leon. Exactly the same as the original poster. When the dimmer is on full. The window switch's (drivers and passengers) and the lock/unlock switch start to flicker. None of the other instrument lights are affected.

Think I'll replace the dimmer switch as this seems to be the problem according to the responses in this thread.
Does anyone know the part number and cost for one ? My local dealer is a waste of time unless you provide a part number.
