this morning my speedo and rev counter needles started to flash and then went off completely, has anyone had this before?? any ideas on what it could be?? 2001 cupra 80000 miles

cheers rich

where though?? iv checked my battary connection both on the battery itself and on the fuse box, checked all my nitrous connections makeing sure all earth points are properly earthed etc .. checked all the fuses themselves, both on the battery and in the fusebox under steering wheel....

thinking about this, its only my dash and gauges that do it, centre console and headlights are fine, so im going to check the obvious tonight (which im still kicking myself for not checking) ............ the bloody dimmer switch for loose connections that my gauges are wired to ........

any findings on this? as mine does it too. found that if i look carefully the electric windows switches and the climate control also does it. the stereo doesn't as its fed from a different supply. really annoying! checked all fuses and connection points on the battery etc.

taken a look at the dimmer switch over the weekend and the wiring of my gauges, everything is fine and intact, anyone got any other suggestions what to check for this problem? its driving me nuts .....

hi, mines doing it too, only had the car 2 days so a bit annoyed as you can imagine, asked the guy i got it off at work and he said he once had water leak on to fuse board and it sent everything crazy. so tonight im checking that again. just thought id suggest to you guys.

My rev counter and speedo ocassionally do....wht i found out it only happens if i've had the heaters on high (hot) for quite a while. and if i put the temp colder it will stop.....

my dash does it too. can't work out why either. not noticed any relationship with a/c etc.
Expecting it to get worse now with increase vibration from new engine mounts though.
Just put it down to 'one of those things' of owning the ibiza.

mine does this if the slidey thing is all the way up to the top, if you move it down very slightly (so it's still as bright as normal), it stays bright and normal all the time. dunno whether it's the same on yours
