Was having a little play with a Leon Cupra R on Sat night, while accelerating hard, the red (!) symbol on the dash lit up and a beeping sound was made.

Its only ever done it once before, that again was when accelerating hard.

I seem to remember reading something relating it to low brake fluid?

Engine management light is off and im logging no faults.

Any info appreciated!

Regards

J

I've just spoke to a guy at a SEAT dealership and he also said its likely to be low brake fluid.

However, my dad works for AA, i just told him what they said, and he laughed, but said it is possible.

For whats its worth i might as well check it.

Which one is the brake fluid reservoir? lol.

Another question...I shouldn't be loosing break fluid should I?

But if it needs topping up, which it more than likely does, I obviously am.

Or is it just a case of overtime you loose a little.

The pads were changed not long ago so this isn't an issue.

when I first bought my car under heavy acceleration and on steep hills I was getting the same thing...so I put in a tiny weeny bit of brake fluid and I mean minimal amounts and I had a brake fluid change and just over a year later it was doing the same thing, again minimal top up and its stopped. So it's a very small amount of fluid thats probably evaporated

Thanks TruCido. That may explains things.

I never did the service, but im 99% sure the person i bought the car off would have done.

I'll get it topped up tonight then see how things go.
