flat spot between 4500 to 5000 rpm

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or know what could be wrong. I have a lcr 225 ive have the cam belt and spark plugs done last week an now I seem to be getting a flat spot at 4500-5k rpm with a speak/whistle? The tubro sounds like its struggling a bit and the exhaust manifold glows really red. If any one has any hints or ideas could you let me know many thanks.

with your manifold glowing red I'd suspect the timing is out. As if the ignition is too late it can cause the symptoms you're having.

Was it driving ok when you got it back after having the belt and plugs replaced?

Was ok but did feel a bit weak but thought it was the plugs so changed them an its just getting worse

I'd be surprised it wasn't the timing then. Drive it gently until its sorted, as if you're boosting it whilst its not timed up correctly it can cause further issues.

Took it back to garage this morning. They said they will have a look but next week will my car be ok for a week?

I wouldn't use it Tbh. If I was you I'd be demanding to get it sorted ASAP as its not been right since they've had it.

Anyone with a code reader around Swindon garage. Is try to denie that its their fault.

faultcode would show correlation error if crank to cam timing it out

I know had a chat with my dad that's a mechanic an told me to try an get a fault code then i can show him it is the cam then he might get a move on and sort it so please any on got a fault code reader. I can use need yo get it sorted asap
