Seen a few people selling the keys on ebay, would i just buy one and take it to my dealer and then get the blade cut? bit of a noob! thanks

There isnt any usefull info on that bit of plastic anymore anyhow. Also dealers dont normally cut laser cut keys they are ordered from SEAT to your chassis number and come complete with the lower half of the key.

Yeah if the key has been locked with the remote and gets opened with the std key the alarm will sound if it doesnt get an ignition signal.

You need a new flick part, blanks can be bought off ebay, few places doing them from a high res digital image of your key.

Yep, I got a second flip key from ebay (I got the exact same part number as was stamped on the inside on my one) this cost £18 and came with a blank key blade. I then found an ebay shop that can send you a key blade that is cut from a high res pic of your key for £7. fit the cut blade, swap out the little transponder from your none remote key, program the new flip key by reading your owners manual and your all done for the grand some of £25. just make sure you get the key blade sent to a friends house as you don't want people with your key info knowing where you live or work.

We have key guys that do all our cars so if i got it they would sort it for me too. They are approved by VW to do our entire fleet as many of our drivers are so clueless they are forever losing keys.
