Ok I have a 2008 1.9 tdi altea xl stylance and yesterday my remote flip key fob stopped working. Red light on fob lights up but no opening or closing of door. I have tried the method on here of using spare non remote in ignition and using flip key in drivers door method but no joy! My car went into seat b'ham for its annual service yesterday and I asked them if they could sort it, when I went to pick my car up they said they need to book it in as he couldn't fix it at the time of doing service!? Now I'm worried that either my car was serviced by someone who can't even fix/reset central locking or that something major has gone wrong and it's gonna cost loads. Does anyone know what it could be and how much I could be looking at shelling out?

Find someone with VCDS and ge them to go into 46-Central Convenience, in adaptation they have to clear all remote fobs, then re-pair.
If this fails then your fob is gubbed, I had it happen once even though the LED lit up as normal.
Otherwise you can buy a used remote part and sync it using the above VCDS method.

Thanks skard ? Shouldn't the "technician" who serviced my car at Seat been able to do this? Am worried now that if it's as easy as that and he hasn't picked up on it how good a job did he do on servicing my car???
