i dont know if u can buy a used remote and then try to code it to ur car the way it says in the manual (stick key in, turn on, turn off, press buttons and car flashes..)
u can buy the blades on ebay too and could get it cut local locksmith??

have just text my mate with a Golf GTi, he has one of these keys so will find out the exact frequency of it now
Right i'm very intrested in doing this flip key trick to my ibiza and the gf's lupo, I would just like a step by step if you people don't mind. Also the lupo has a 434 key does anyone know how i'm gonna go about doing that 1, As you can probably tell i'm not very clever when it comes to electric and frequency's etc lol
from wot my mates told me at the pub...remotes with used transponder chips have to be taken to the dealer, u cant just stick it into the ignition with a newly cut blade...and ya looking at a few quid for this apparantly
apparantly for some cars u can do it urself with vagcom...but he didnt think u could with an ibiza? and he believes his is 434mhz... not 433.92 rounded up
all theory though so dont take it as gospel, just a caution

You cant just round up the frequency... it is a specific one. Some leons are 433, where as some golf 4's are 434... It really does vary. But for it to work on the Ibiza it has to be a 433.92mhz frequency. Its pointless otherwise. You would then need a new key cutting and for the immobiliser and transponder etc to be coded in. Either through a dealer or someone with the equipment to do it. You can get the key to operate the central locking through holding some buttons down, but for it to be linked to alarm etc it needs coding properly.

SEAT and Skoda ETKA on the diagram with the remote transmitter specifically says 433.92MHz. Entering a VIN brings up further information that says 433.92MHz/434.42MHz. I think this is what is causing some confusion and is a range the transmitters work in, rather like radio signals.
I have also spoken to a contact at a VW dealership who without missing a beat says VW's are all on 433.92MHz and 'always have been'. Just to confuse things more VW ETKA lists some as 433.92MHZ, others 434MHz but from what my contact said I think this is just two ways of saying the same thing.
Therefore my opinion is that all remotes throughout VWG work on the same basic frequency
