Hi All,

First post on the forums, happy to be here!

Bit of back story... I bought my 09 SC last May and the previous owner had installed HIDs and fly eye on the headlights, side indicators and rear lights.

It does look kinda cool but it's awful at night, can't see a thing, and it's also a bit illegal I'm sure.

Now the dilemma...

I've read some horror stories about when fly eye's removed, it leaves a big adhesive mess on the headlight housing and they need to be restored, which also removes the UV protection and costs money.

My plan was to buy new H7s (probably Night Breakers), get rid of the HIDs, take off the fly eye and then find a detailer in Glasgow with a polisher to restore the housings (if needed).
I've seen the headlight restoration kits but also seen that they don't work too well with removing adhesive :(

Has anyone removed fly eye from their car and were there any problems with adhesive?
Or has anyone swapped out HIDs?

Cheers guys!

My friend had fly-eye on his headlights and what he did was get someone who applies stuff like this for a job, too take it off. They know whats best and what things can happen.

I can put fly-eye on but I'm not a professional and professionals know whats best to take it off. You always run a risk with tint, I know people who had front tints and then the police made them take them off there and then and it left black marks all over the window. had to swap the window.

Cheers, found a place near my work to remove both front tints, £12 and no adhesive left over!
