Hi guys,
Never posted here before and don’t know that much about cars but I’m hoping you can give me some advice on a nightmare call I’ve just had from my local Seat dealer.
My 2008 Leon 1.9TDI is in for a standard service and the service manager has just phoned me up telling me I need a new flywheel and clutch fitted and that’s going to cost me £1100. I am devastated as I only bought the car about 18 months ago, it only has 28K on it and it’s not long out of warranty.
I did hear a strange noise and vibration coming from the car about a week ago but knew it was going in for a service so didn’t pay much attention to it.
Should this sort of thing have happened to a 3.5 year old car with only 28k miles? Im in total shock as I had an Astra SRI 1.8 with 65K miles for 6 years before this Leon and it never needed a fraction on this sort money spent on it.
Going to price round some private mechanics and see what price the quote, what would be a reasonable amount to pay for this sort of work?
Sincere thanks
