Again related to my maf failure im looking at replacing the filter aswel as the maf, reason being my current intake is oiled stainless, and i reckon thats whats paggered my maf as iv had the same problems with k&n's on other cars. Looking at foam mushroom filters to do away with the oily residue, but i have a question, what if the foam inside the cage starts to break down, wont it be sucked into the turbo as there is nothing to stop it?

thanks

was just looking at the design, i think i would benefit from flow rate over the one i have on, and the foam isnt oiled, just worries me that if the foam breaks down it will get sucked straight into my blower. I suppose if 800 norse supras use em then they will be alright, do they fit in the gap ok dan, got any pics mate

All sorts of cars use them, I've not heard of one car suffering from breakdown. The same argument could be applied to all sorts of filters, what if a piece of paper falls off a standard filter, or K&N's QA department was having an off day. I wouldn't worry about it.

iv heavily considered the jetex like paul, the prices are cool with em aswell, just fancy something different like the mushroom, especially with it being foam. Whats the jetex? cloth gauze? are they oiled

jetex are oiled from factory, you can service them every 10k or just get a new filter like I will do as they're cheap to buy :)

love mine. mushroom foam one's look too small for me, I like a whoosh though!

i really want ITG Maxogen but at over £300 i think they can keep it, il have a look at the apexi now

I spoke to ITG about one being made up for my LCR, but they was giving me similar figures... Was going to be with a cold air feed included in the setup and big cone within cold air compartment, i.e like a jabba shield. But £300 no way not with Jetex in existence :p

well iv ordered my new one, went for a simota mushroom filter and a red silicone extension from demon. wasnt expensive, but i like the look of it, change from the usual cone. Basically looks the same as the HKS only yellow instead of green, prob not as good like
