Hi all. Thought I would sign up the hope some kindly soul can answer my question.
My Toledo fob was getting low on juice so I took it to a mate at the local market from which I got 2 new batteries. He fitted them for me. But I noticed that soon as he put it back together the light on the fob stays on. Not brightly, just dim. Does anyone know why this would be?
Pressing the buttons does nothing.

I've got it in bits in front of me. As soon as the board makes contact with the power pins the light comes on. Ive even removed the button casing (both of them) and still the light comes on! :(

Update:

I noticed that If I pressed hard on the circuit board, even thought it was powered, the light would go and it would work. I don't know what pressing down on it did, but I put a little paper inside the plastic housing the pressed it closed. Works. Very, very odd.

Hi again. Been a while since I posted on here. I managed to get another FOB off ebay but I'm having trouble programming it. I've tried all the instructions I can find on the net.
Turn on ignition, wait for 4 secs, remove key, hold lock on remote, press other button 3 times, light will flash 5 times and thr car should lock. But it doesnt. The light flashes but the car does nothing. I don't have a spare key for this car either. I miss using my fob, any ideas why its not syncing?

fob

hi, i had the same problem, the light stayed on but dim and drained my batteries, got new ones and still.. so

i took everything apart and noticed that if i pressed the board (buttons facing up) on the top left and bottom right corners, the light will come off and the fob will work. so i took a glue gun (silicone) and put enough silicone on the black housing (the part where the buttons are) in the respective corners. the top rigth and the botton left (where the board goes with the buttons facing down)
and that created the pressure needed so the light could stay off :)

fob

one question. My fob has lost some range, i mean, i need to get very close to the car (near the window) to unlock it and sometimes i need to press the buttons 2 or 3 times befores it locks/unlocks...
batteries are new, so thats not the problem....

ok ,or there a programe about what you can use to programes keys its called vag-tacho google and you can download it for free, its abit like vag-com but for writing stuff and doing keys you cant use your vag com lead tho, you need to get there own lead uses a diffrent interface might be worth a look for you

ok, thanks but, i dont think that can fix my problem...
my problem is that for example when the car was new i could lock/unlock from far away.
its is a 2001 toledo
now i put in new batteries and i need to get the keyfob almost touching the car to lock/unlock... what can i do if i want it to work from far away?
