There has been a few posts on here regarding the Leons stability.

After having a 4 wheel alignment check and all my wheels being perfectly aligned I then took the matter to Seat.
On Tuesday they will be doing a full suspension check and if there isn't an issue they will be looking at other problems.
Symptoms are my car has more resistance turning in a left hand bend more so then a right hand bend and recently the car just doesn't feel as glued to the road as it did before. It seems to be picking up a lot more bumps in the road then it did before. Small bumps in the road can also dictate the direction of the steering wheel which also doesn't sit straight while i'm driving in a straight line.
I will post back my results after I have been there on tuesday, in the mean time, can anyone think of any other possible cause?
Both tyres are the same on the front and have the same amount of tread same with the rears. The whole car seems to 'slide' around bends a lot easier now aswell. I have no confidence in it what so ever now.

yeah....

mine started doing similar about 2 months ago since ive passed the 40000 mark ive changed all the tyres to good years f1 asom balanced and alligned. have eithan replaced discs and pads to eliminate this from the problem to no avail.sometimes it feels that that the front does not feel right,as if its gone really light as if on ice .also can be hard turning to the left also at the time of probs a loud noise from the wheel, suspension area when on full lock. now just started to get a vibration through the stearing and floor of car when pressing the gas pedal?
what sort of milage are you on ?

Rob, no marks on the wheels, been refurbed last October and haven't got a single scratch on them. They can try but i wont let them, nothing has happened to my car, if i had hit a pothole, mounted a kerb etc i would except responsibility and paid for any damage myself but the truth is, i havent so, the car is still under warranty and they can fix it :)
I'll post back the results on tuesday mate :)

I had noticed some instability when crossing lanes on poor roads the rear would wobble, and the car generally was not feeling right.I asked for it to be looked at while in for service recently..On collecting the car i was told all my tyres were down on pressure??Now though the tyres feel too hard and the ride is worse and it still feels strange,i have not been out in it much lately so i am going to have a good run out today and see whats what, and book it in a different dealer next week to see if they can find anything.

My tyres are correct pressure, the first thing I checked, mine is the same, going over catseyes in the road will easily dictate the direction of the steering wheel and yes, the car does wobble about.
I won't let Seat fob me off on this one because it is a genuine concern, other little things I can live with but not this. I will go to other garages if necessary.

Got the car back from Seat.
Sub frame out of alignment, damaged fuel cooler and wheel laser alignment needed.
I don't recall any crash or anything :( I must of dropped off a kerb too hard or something, been quoted £308 for a full fix, might try a VW specialist to see their price?
Annoyed to say the least :(

Yeah, its under warranty but there is physical damage Rob so they are charging me for it :(
And yeah, it could be worse, VW specialist in Lincoln doing it for a £250 although he said it maybe less if the sub frame doesnt need too much jiggling, pays to shop around!

Not at the min Rob, damage is mainly to the fuel cooler next to the drivers door (maybe different place on tfsi?) damage to the undertray and damage to the sill running along the car (large chunk out of it) as I said, this has also shifted the subframe :(
I personally don't think i've caused this, the car was ex-demo and having new tyres on the front is believed to be the reason for me suddenly noticing it, but I can't prove either way whether it was me or Seat who owned the car before me and not told me? :(

I know what you mean Rob, I was fuming yesterday, ready to ring Seat HQ and see if they could help but I'm going to the VW specialist in Lincoln and having it done, I only get warranty work done at Seat because IMO they're rip offs, they want over £300 at service times when VW garages only charge £200 for the same work and genuine parts aswell. whether I will buy another Seat or not, but only being 20 years old, I can't get insured on the equivalent Gold GT Tdi for the same price as my Leon Fr [:@]
Take yours in mate and see what they say, my fuel cooler is the main issue as the way it is, it's only letting half the amount of fuel through it should be doing, might explain while i've only been getting around 35mpg lately :(

Remember the weather we have had over the last few months.... i know for a fact when the snow was deep and then it froze over nite, the whole underside of my car was crashing and banging off it all as i drove down most streets.

Could be where the damage has came from buddy.

Phone them anyway mate and kick up a fuss , push it as far as you can with them , you never know what might happen , the dealer is a franchise they can not make decsions , they have to put warranty claims to SEAT so for them to say no is not on , fight your corner mate.

Right, got the car back today and WOW.
HIGHLY recommend VW Specialists Lincoln on Lincoln Enterprise park, done in under 2 hours, full list of work carried out and top service a long with a friendly chat. Courtesy car was offered as was a lift into Lincoln and back :)

Car has had full four wheel laser alignment and sub-frame alignment and it feels so so different.
Steering is weighty and meaty at higher speeds again, steering wheel sits straight and the whole car feels like am on coilovers, just feels planted to the floor. I would suggest the laser alignment for people with the same issue, but as I said, my subframe was out aswell :(
Bill came to £243 against Seats £308 so a nice saving, plus only used about £10 of fuel from Grimsby to Lincoln with spirited driving :)
