The long and short of it is DPFs are a failure by design, they're not fit for purpose, a burden on the owner and a quick fix by manufacturers to comply to a standard which was too hastily introduced.

You're lucky if your car does well, in the long run, with a DPF.

I hate them. I think they're mis-engineered.

Mine did a regen while sat on the slip road queuing to get off. I was sat at 50mph in 4th 2300rpm for 15mins then 75-80ph for 3 miles 2300rpm in 6th.

Then had to queue to get off the motorway. And it stopped after about 5 mins after that.

A seat tech told me that if you keep interrupting the regen after so many times the light comes on meaning you require a forced regen

My light never comes on even when interrupted, just regens all time, did it tonight so.i drove for 30 mins above 2000rpm, got home and still regen, spoke to the tech.guy who said my car has a new dpf sensor, so its being looked into

After call from seat the fault is either a cracked dpf or faulty egr system, going in next week, also I need a cheap dent removal xompany in the durham area as some **** has put a small but noticible dent in my freshly painted drivers door, sick as **** now

Well car is sorted touch wood, dents out and had full egr system replaced, car feels like it should and no regens, yet
