What are peoples thoughts on the forte diesel treatment? It is a product from the motor trade so not sure how well known it is? They do alot of product and i highly rate their engine oil flush.
Also my car is nearly 1 year old now and going to have its first service, should I flush the engine oil?

Thanks
Jamie

I would not bother.

Use a premium diesel from an oil major every couple of tanks and it'll be reet.

Don't see the need for flushing oil anymore as modern stuff tends not to turn into snot.

oil flush is great but at a year old it would be wasted really, i usually use it when there is signs of oil being left way overdue etc on old scrappers

fuel treatment is a best seller especially prior to mot but watch where you get it from as a few local garages have been stung on ebay with re-labelled bottles and even water in some so watch for that bargain.

we are closing at the end of the month so i could have sent ya a genuine bottle for nothing but sadly sold out :(:(:(

i use the oil flush once a year, jsut to keep things clean.

no point doing it every oil change on a new car tho if you stick to the service intervals.

Used to use it every other oil change (3000 miles) on my Mr2 turbo, but that was an older engine and used to get alot of abuse on tracks and santapod.

Not sure how genuine the advice is, but I read in a car mag that using oil flush on a modern engine is not a good idea, due to the narrow oil ways and passages that modern synthetic and semi-synth oils have been developed to keep clear and clean. But as Conks says, there really shouldn't be any need for using an oil flush if you've used a good spec oil. With a car so young and under warranty, I think I'd leave well alone.

I used to use oil flush with my old Pug 309 and Citroen ZX diesels, but they were quite crude and tough old-design engines - I haven't been anywhere near my last 3 Leon TDI's with oil / engine flush...

But each to their own. :)

I use Forte Diesel Treatment prior to MOT time and it works for me. I put some in my FR TDi Ibiza last week and it was noticeably smoother afterwards. I also use Diesel Sport 4 regularly but TBH don't know if it's doing any good. I rate the Forte Diesel Treatment though.

Update: I now use Liqui Moly Diesel Purge for half the price of the Forte diesel treatment and it's (IMHO) a more effective product.
