Well obviously its totally up to you. Us guys are obviously going to be biased but for a better idea you should test drive all the cars your interested in and then decide from there on :)

cupra's and bocs are are mechanically identical.....i get pretty decent mpg considering the performance of my car 37mpg driving my normal way (and i have a pretty heavy foot) 40+if i drive carefully and on my trip to Croatia i got over 41mpg with a full load (diving gear, suitcases, food, passenger etc) only 1mpg less than my dads 2.2 diesel crv managed :p and i went on the autobahns and via the Italian dolomites mountains so I wasn’t driving conservatively :).

oh and i'd go for the racing brakes if u can not the bi xeons (personally) the standards lights are pretty good with up rated bulbs (£18 of ebay) but the standard brakes are made of cheese lol

when your looking at car like the golf/a3 always go to skoda and have a look at the octavia VRS or the sport, the 2.0TSI in the new octavia is a very good engine and also very good on fuel, you also get alot more for your money.

I had a octavia VRS 170BHP, brilliant car all in 1 package, only reason i got rid was because i had my hours cut and wernt doing the mileage anymore, when i get rid of the ibiza i will be defo having a look at skoda again.

They are really expensive, but the main diffrence is you get much bigger discs (312mm compared to the standard 288mm) bigger 4 piston calipers which are painted red with "Seat Sport" on them. Just alot more stopping power basically and they probably dont fade as quick as the standard brakes on track or when driving fast.

ive not got the racing brakes ive got brembos didnt go 100% smoothly during the installation due to the job being rushed :censored:[:@] but all the probs are sorted now and they make a HUUGE difference. the stopping power is a lot better but its the lack of fade which is the biggest improvement there is a better description and pics in this link ---> http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=300922

personally i wouldnt go for the SEAT brakes do the conversion yourself, will save some cash...i have driven both cars with standard and the racing ones and in my opinon there aint much difference, not in normar driving anyway.. alot of it is for show!!!! MPG wise..well i have REVO on my cupra and i get good mpg even on short journeys(see signature). drive 17 mile to work and get 40+ mpg

They are for show until that one time when you need that little extra stopping power.

When driven enthusiastically is when they come into their own. You don’t want the thing screaming to a halt every time you tickle the brake pedal. They will still have the same brake master cylinder therefore similar peddle feel.. until you need them and they scrub off speed FAR quicker.

yeah might be the case.. for me i just could not justify the expense... if i could do it again i'd of gone for the xenons for sure!!! Maybe in the future i'llupgrade my brakes but at the moment standard brakes do the job for me... might not be the case when i venture towards stage 2 ;)

Yeah you would NEED upgraded brakes for stage 2. I havent even got stage 1 yet and the brakes are barely enough to wipe off speed when driving quickly!
