FR LED Lights on 2009 Ibiza

Hello,

Does anyone know if is possible to install the facelift Ibiza 5dr LED lights to a pre facelift 2009 5dr Ibiza. Looking at images, they seem to be the same shape and size and the connectors look identical.

Could anyone shed some light on whether these would work?

I think it's probably a straight swap. I'll tell you why. I looked at a face-lift car that had the old lights and wrong bumper. Figured out that the guy was buying write-off cars and fixing them up. He'd clearly put the wrong lights and bumper on because that's what was available to him at the right price.

Can't guarantee it but I bet they just work.

My question would be, why bother? An FR bumper, I get it, but to be honest I think the older lights look better than the face-lift ones.

Must be down to preference, I personally prefer the FR lights, on the 5 door model, the shape and design of the stock ones I don't find visually appealing. They're also LEDs, they seem to be the way of the future on cars these days.

The stock 3 door lights I think look pretty nice, just not the 5 door.

I know, I might end up switching out the indicator bulbs for LEDs at some point if they don't cause too much headache with canbus.

Even the LED rears on 3 dors and 5 doors are different. 5 doors are 2 Ls on it's long side Led strips, where as 3 doors are 2 Vs LEDs. Not sure they are even the same shape to swap (between 3 door and 5 door), but I haven't compared side to side.

Wow! That's a lot of effort to go to for something few people would notice.

I’ve done it on my old seat Ibiza that was a 62 reg. it’s a straight swap, but be careful of getting the bulb error symbol on your car, even though it’ll work. You’ll have to clear it with a device like VCDS.

Just changed mine to leds too but can't clear error on the dash, could you explain please what have changed vith vcds? thank you
