Ironically on my way home to change the front discs & pads today I had my first ever accident, although not a biggie and at low speed. Basically a tow bar on the van in front has smashed the lower grille completely on my 2010 Leon FR and the coloured strip along the top where the number plate attaches is gone.
No other damage but needing a new grille & strip. Anyone know how much this is likely to be from a dealer ???

:censored:

Luckily, the strip is replaceable on the FL but will need painting.

Grill : 1P0 853 667D (9B9) ... about £38 (black)
Strip : 1P0 853 350 (GRU) ... about £33 (primer)

Part arrived today and bodyshop is painting the bumper strip and fitting the new grille for me on Friday for a cash in hand deal. Dealer is a good guy and gave me discount on the parts.
Decided to have the strip painted gloss black instead of Red so it will be like a Cupra bumper but with an FR badge.
Must get a picture up on site when done as my avatar is still my old Exeo !!

I an looking at wrapping my strip behind the number plate. Do you know how it is removed. Does the new part give it away at all?

Thanks

Only had a quick look before I dropped it at bodyshop to get it painted and it was still in plastic bag but looks like about 6-8 clips along bottom edge that will pull out if you need to remove it. I will try to remember to ask the guy at the bodyshop tomorrow when I pick up the car.

To answer Crigisback question I asked the guy at the bodyshop about removing / refitting the strip behind the number plate on a f/l Leon.

He told me that it should unclip from the lower grille but might break some of the clips !
I didn't see how it was done as my bumper had to come off to fit the new grille & strip fitted then. The strip looks damn good in piano black !
Just a pity the dealer didn't realise or tell me that the tow hook cover did not come with the new strip !!!!
Luckily the bodyshop has some paint left from doing the strip and when i get the cover he will spray it for me.

Have you had the Bonnet Strip off, the photo makes it look like it is sitting a little proud of the bonnet, just on the nearside of centre. If so, at speed, the wind could rip it off.

No the strip has not been off. I see what you mean in the picture but it is just the way that it looks for some reason the way that I took the photo.
