out of interest what make where the glow plugs? Its ngk i've had issues with the centre of spark plugs dropping out of.
How the hell can an inlet manifold be damaged! Threaded the aluminium due to someone over tightening a bolt!!!? No bits of glow plug could posibly have got in the inlet manifold. there is a tubo blowing air through it to the engine, not to mention the engine sucking on the down stroke of the pistons. Seems strange its only been found now too.

You've been unlucky for it to have caused so much damage! I'd be asking for all the old bits back. get them weighed in and buy yourself a bottle of something strong to drown your sorrows. lol

how long is it taking them to do all this work?

it is a new engine, warranty direct are payin for it. what annoys me is the time and the not knowing, i dunno ow the manifold is broke.

how long is it taking them to do all this work?

I am not sure what make they were.... I am getting all the parts back because it had just had a new maf sensor fittted not long ago.....I know the clutch will be fine that they are replacing but they do it all if the dmf is replaced.... I am gonna sell any useable parts.... its been a saga!!!

Hi i just recently had the same problem with my seat leon fr and it wasnt the glow plug that caused it, it was the butterfly hinges or clips in the intake manifold which have came loose over time and gone in to the engine (firing chamber) and then broke the glow pug which damaged the piston head the chamber 3valves and the head! I had to replace the engine which wasnt cheap but i took the butterfly clips out if the intake manifold now as ther pretty useless anyway.

the warranty was with warranty direct. top price one!

warrenty direct didnt cover it?

wow i have to admit that i am surprised about as there full cover litrally covers everything.

what makes the butterflies loose? could it be rough driving on country roads pot holes jumps etc? its not an isolated case? I thiink its a problem with the engines that vag dosent want to admit fault to!

got the car back yesterday...... many problems doesnt start atall well...... oil leak.......faulted 3 times due to overboost according to vag com the garage is sending a recovery wagon.......still not fixed!!!!!!!!!!!
