FR TDI sometimes idling at 1000rpm

I have noticed my revs on my FR tdi sitting at 1000rpm when stationary after a journey when it usually idles about 700-750 rpm. it is like a choke is on. and it seems slightly rough, switching the engine off usually cures it. what could be the cause?

Is it the DPF regeneration? Do the engine bay fans run for a while after you turn off the ignition?

cant say I have noticed but the regen light is not on.

Possibly a bad coolant temp sensor too, they can mess with the idle.

are these easy to fit? where is it in the engine bay? would this not throw the EML on the dash?

I think it is dpf, it happends to my altea too but after some time stops. Also car strumbles a litle... I dont know why altea hasnt got dpf light?
