Been looking on darkside developments and i seen they have a modified S3 intercooler for the mk2 FR leon, has anyone purchased this and pu it on there FR?

The questions are as follows
1, Is it worth it, having a front mount over the standard one think its a side mount
2, would i be better with a universal front mount
3, would i require further mapping

As already said, the FR170 already has a decent size FMIC. Same one used on the 240 BHP Cupra as it happens so plenty of headroom even if you are running engine mods.

Why are you looking to change it? What inlet temperatures are you seeing?

I've got on mine, but was an impulse buy because it was cheaper second hand. I didn't check my intake tempsbefore or after. The original front mount is apparently good for 300bhp but the original connections aren't the best. I've still got my air con as well so can't even see it visually.

Was basically looking for supporting mods to whats been already done to it and then i was going to get money put away to go down the road of a big turbo upgrade tubular manifold etc darkside developments have a kit. So i was looki g for the 350 to 375bhp mark

I was planning going for a big gtb kit on mine but its way to expensive for what gains you get, nozles and Injectors are a fortune. I'm done spending money on a diesel. I was looking at building 1.9 8v if was going to do it, bore out to 2L, 2L BSS crank, big valve head etc to go for 350ish. My Leon is lying in garage with a burst gearbox, so close to just breaking the thing for parts...

I've already wasted £1500 on a flywheel and clutch. Got Xmans hybrid 1756, darkside intercooler, darkside hard pipes, darkside egr delete, full miltek, polybushed, H&R roll bars, camber, caster, anti lift kit, eibach springs, koni streets, porsche 6pots etc. Spend far to much on a diesel lol
Yeh your lookin upwards of a 10k engine clutch and gearbox build

Yehhhh... bet it scares the **** out of stuff though... mi e isnt too powerful just now only mapped dpf and egr delete and a dark sode 3 inch downpipe... only tried to kill me twice this month.. hit boost in the wet 2nd into 3rd and it goes crazy

I've not had my map properly finished off yet so not getting any of the potential out of it. I've got a 4 bar map sensor to get calibrated along with mapping but I'm really at the point where it's boring be now having the diesel. I've been offered a 20vt seat arosa that me and my mate built a while ago so I think I will burst the Leon and buy it.

Not had mine rolli g roaded yet but i recon its over 200 easy and the torque is mental.. it eats front tyres

If you want that power level get the Petrol TFSI engine instead, run the diesel at that power level and the Torque it'll produce will completely destroy the gearbox, driveshafts and everything else connected to it.

You'll be tens of thousands of pounds into custom parts and specialist work.
