FR184 Remap

Hi, just after some advice regarding remapping our FR184?
I am torn between the REVO remap and More-BHP?
I messaged Jason and he said that the REVO is a generic load and go map whereas his isnt but the REVO dealer reckons that it's the best product.
Now I understand both will say their product is better but the REVO dealer is also the Tuner I have used for all work on our Evo VI for the last 13 years so have a lot of respect for him.
Does anyone have any advice/opinion as to which one to go for please?

For my Mk2s... one diesel, one petrol I've gone through 4 Revo maps and 2 custom maps. All remaps are good and will put a smile on your face. What I found is that Revo maps are very conservative with the power. Eg my Revo map made 377lbs of torque. With no hardware changes, R-tech remapped it to 427lbs of torque. So, as he said, it's a generic map - so the power / torque has to be low enough it will work on all FR184s without issue.

Might not be something your interested in. But tdi have there tuning boxes with 20% off as I’m currently having my head turned by them. Increase to 240

I'd steer away from tuning boxes.

A friend of mine had his Golf 184 mapped by Avon Tuning, it's a generic copy and paste map but he's happy with the increase.

Ill start by saying I have had many DTUK boxes over the years and diesel cars Ive had and they have all been great however I had a DTUK on a 184 Golf GTD and it caused loads of spurious faults bus even some with the DSG that just couldn't be ironed out so after two boxes I just left it standard. I'm very sceptical they actually make 240 bhp, more like 210-215 bhp.

Darkside developments have a good video (on YouTube) on dyno testing tuning boxes.

I have had previous cars where Ive gone from tuning box to custom map and its night and day. Tuning boxes are quick, simple to fit and great for warrantied cars but I would go custom map if you can.

Wow, interesting video, thanks. Tuning box? Nope! I'm thinking of a remap for my 184, nothing crazy but 220-230 would be ideal.
