FR2007 inlet manifold

Hi, i have discovered that the inlet manifold on my pd170 2007 leon fr needs replaced and one of these costs £600 which i unfortunately don't have the money to fix at this minute in time.

Another route i am considering is sticking on the the metal inlet manifold from the pd140 engine. has anyone else done this? any possible pitfalls from this solution?

what year? as far as i am aware they were plastic from 06 on. the tumbler flap/ swirl flap that controls the vacume has failed on mine
