Just thought I would post this up so that anyone still with a warranty on their Mk3 Leon can keep an eye for a similar fault.

My car was 6months out of warranty before I noticed it. Had to pay to get belt replaced. :censored:
Did contact Seat, about maybe getting them to contribute to the cost of a replacement. But was told to politely go and do one :crash:

Not what you would expect on a just 3.5 year old car with only 22k

Fair statement.
But if you look to the right of the photo the belt has cut thro’ the plastic buckle exposing the steel.
Should this happen on a 3.5 yr old car. In my opinion NO. More like some kind of manufacturing defect. I did notice the new belt now runs smoother than the old one.

As for owner abuse, well all they would have to do is look thro’ the service records on the car and realise that it’s had everything Seat recommend done to it. People who look after their cars don’t tend to abuse them.
But we live and learn and hope mine was just a one off.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't infer you abused it. Just commenting on how dealers think.

No worries LouG didn’t think you were suggesting that:cheers: and welcome your comments.
Thats what a site like this is for, to learn about our cars and help each other.
I must of saved a few pennies from finding out off this site, about the Leon Cupra mk3 rear light cluster condensation fault. Had both changed under warranty thanks to members making in known.

Your not wrong that some dealers do think the worst of us owners, even when we hand over our hard earned cash for them to service our pride and joy.

I count myself very lucky to deal with what are the best dealers I've ever experienced. They even gave me an Ateca when we visited Auckland so that I don't have to rent something. I'm not talking about a loaner while mine's being serviced either.
I'm half tempted to ask for a Porsche next time. They're part of the dealer group.

That’s good you’ve experienced a good dealer service.
To be fair the dealer I currently use White Dove, Cardiff have been very good so far. They also know how fussy I’m with the car.
But I think they too have their hands tied as to what Seat will or won’t pay for.

Previous dealers I’ve had experience with on other makes of cars. Well I won’t go there as to what I think of them:banghead:

Porsche sounds good to me:coolthumb
