Front ABS sensor - is there a trick to fitting these?

As above, trying to fit a new ABS sensor to nearside front.

Got the old one out (but had to destroy it in the process it was wedged in so tightly) - I'm guessing it was the original so been in there for nearly 14 years. The new one won't fit into the hole in the strut. It's the same part number, but the plastic casing just seems to be a little bit too big. I guess the strut has corroded and made the hole a bit small?

Is there a trick to fitting these, or should I just get a file out and open out the mounting hole?

Thanks

Cool, I'll attack it again in the morning - ran out of daylight today as I was expecting it to be a simple swap....

I learn one of these days that nothing on a Seat is ever simple
