Just changed mine, and noticed exactly the same with the FL tyre. Can't be roundabouts, cos mine's a left hooker, and they don't have roundabouts in Germany.
Got to go baack to the SEAT garage though, cos some :w4nk: nicked the tool thing to get the wheels off. Hope they won't try to charge for it, seeing as all service have been at the same dealers since new. Anyone know what this tool/device looks like?

I thought when there was more wear on one side of the tyre it ment your tracing was out, I would still require the garage to do the tracking and tha blancing on the free espcially if I was paying so much for the tyres, I got a mate that only charged for the tyres Yippeeeeeeeee........ :)
 
The wear was uniform across the whole of the tyre so tracking is fine just seems to be a common trait. It wasn't that much of a difference. The left one was illegal while the right tyre was only just legal.
I just thought it was strange.
 
Is it possible that, when you're asleep, Russ Swift nicks your car and does two-wheeled driving along some runways for a bit, then fills the tank up again, brings the car back and puts the keys back where he got them?

Probably not, but this is a more plausible explanation than the one that the dealer will come up with if you ask.
 
ive noticed the same on mine,the offside front tyre is shot and sometimes going over speed humps the car makes a grinding noise and ive no idea what it is..
 
I think you have a TDI Cupra, presumably a Mk.1 (I had to guess this from messages in your profile, it would help if you updated it, or told us what your car was in the thread).

The grinding noise is the undertray scraping on the speed hump - mine does it on some humps, and you learn to put one wheel partway up the hump to stop it.

If you haven't got an undertray, take a good look at your sump and the lowest bits of the subframe.

thanks ill try n have a look at it it does sound like awfull like grateing niose,i just wonderd as ive noticed my offside front tyre is well worn,but drivers is okay,totally lost why this is.:(
 
what would be causing my offside front tyre to wear really bad,steering doesnt pull at all and it only grinds on some speed humps and odd occasion when ive broke after going over them,any info would be great,thanks.
 
Is the car lowered at all? ARB can contact driveshafts after lowering.

But the TDI cupra should be on sport suspension already and 15mm lower than standard. Mine certainly is (Toledo TDI 150 Sport). Any lower and your sump will be very low, the TDI sump is lower than the petrol one.

Other possibilities are CV joints, or suspension bushes (but they'd need to be badly worn to grind), possibly dampers or maybe a broken spring.
