front windscreen smeary !!!!

im having big probs with my wipers juddering and the windscreen all smeary. so much so it makes it hard to see at night when its raining!!! any ideas ? my blades are quite new so im guessing its the screen. i try not to use any window cleaning products on the front screen if i can help it. i have tried using meths on it but didnt seen to make much difference ? help

How new are the blades?

Try using something cheap and easy like Auto Glym Fast Glass... or Mr Muscle Window Cleaner. Clean the screen and the blades.

It sounds to me like either the blades or the screen has some sort of crap on it thats causing the smearing.

cheers for your reply. i couldnt think of anything worse than mr muscle lol. i have used fast glass in the past and its fine for side windows but doesnt do the front screen any good. ive never found a product that cleans the front screen any good in all my years of cleaning. i wonder what the pros use ?

Alot of the pro's use Megs Glass Cleaner which is a bulk buy product which is then diluted with water. Essentially a bulk version of Fast Glass...lol

I got a bottle of Rain-X glass cleaner and sealant in one from Halfrauds the other day... cleaned the screen lovely and works a treat with beading the rain etc. I dont have any smearing from the wipers either.

im going to get some halfords glass cleaner. it says it removes all stuff from the front screen, then i may get some rain x like you said and give that a go..

A bog standard vinegar based window cleaner does the trick for me?

I use Rain-X and that really works!

I find if I just the clean the car and don't use Rain-x or similar then I end up getting smears, but when I use a glass cleaner on the screen & the blades it's perfect
