Got my 2.0fsi leon remaped the other day and very pleased withe the results.

Before- 153hp & 151lbs/ft

After- 182hp & 192lbs/ft

Nice gains for a naturally aspirated engine.

Dont have a copy of the orignal map buts heres one of the final results (put 'http' infront of the link)

N/A cars really dont take to mapping at all, with peak gains of 9-12hp maximum if your lucky and thats with exhausts and intakes thrown in.

what it will do is make your car more drivable by changing the delivery. and small increase accross the entire rev range.

for instance superchips quote a grand total of 9hp and 7Ibft gains to be had. so the chance of you making 30hp and 40Ibft are pretty unlikely. Superchips arent exactly known for their massive figures but they arent normally to far behind the specialist marque tuners.

Sorry to rain on your parade a bit there but im just not buying those figures. i think you have been wrongly advised or sold you will get gains, but not of that magnitude

I was going to say I remember being dissapointed to find out my old naturally aspirated 2.7 V6 would only gain 8bhp with a remap. That's a fairly hefty increase you've managed there. They didnt throw in high lift cams, headers, full exhaust, and a CAI did they? It would be good to find out more about this one. Im certainly not saying a N/A 2.0 is not capable of getting those numbers (Look at the RenaultSport 2.0 that pump out close to 200bhp) but a remap alone im not sure would net you that kind of gain.

I was gonna mention this, but was beaten to it. All these things are what the touring car teams have to do to get power from an N/A engine. (plus real custom maps, such as what ORECA used to do for the SEAT team)

Yep agreed! Our old Hyundai's were never going to win anything in the power stakes were they? But the V6 sounded awesome though!

Never seen a dyno of a 2.0 FSI with more gain than 15 bhp (and this was including a better exhaust and intake). Most of the people I know that wanted more out of their FSI traded it for a TFSI FR or Cupra (and in this way even got a better fuel economy....)

Oh yes, I've had comments that it sounded better than a porsche. I miss it in some ways although im sure if i switched back I would miss the leon more. Just loved that low slung coupe feel and that V6 roar under acceleration. What I wont miss is the blooming fuel consumption though. I swear you could actually see the needle dropping when driving it hard.

no way not in a millon years would it make that gain from post 1.
i have a tsfi 185bhp sort (with the turbo) when i map it then the fun will start...

as for the fsi 5 to 8 hp max. to be honest its a bit of a waste of money mapping a 148 bhp fsi.

just amke sure u havent been ripped off...
cheers

As soon as I read that when it was first posted, my initial reaction was that it was hugely unlikely.

Having done some research in to it, I am now happy that my initial reaction was correct.

The only way you are going to make a gain like that from a n/a factory engine is with a huge amount of bolt ons like cams, uprated manifolds, exhausts etc etc, and even then you would do well for that kind of a gain.
