It does say 95 ron minimum, suggesting that -as said- some countries have lesser fuels available, I've tried super unleaded -97 ron and more- couldn't feel any difference, using a fuel additive is a thing from the past - a bit like doing a decoke- I do have some octane booster but that's for my Honda that asks for 98ron minimum , so if I''m unable to get the right fuel it doesn't go short.

If it says 95 on the cap then 97, 98, 99 will give you zero extra peformance.

If it says 98 on the cap an you use anything less, then you will be losing a fair bit of power.

You’re going to have to explain that one! Sounds like you are discrediting you’re first point with your second point

If it says 95 on the petrol cap, then the ECU only ever tries to run an igniton advance that's appropriate for a 95RON fuel. If you put anything higher octane in there, then the ECU has no way of either knowing or advancing the ignition timing any further.

If it says 98 on the cap, then the ECU tries to run an ignition advance that's appropriate for a 98RON fuel. If you then put in 95 RON fuel, the engine will start knocking, the knock sensors will detect it, and the ECU will retard the timing advance enough to prevent damage to the engine. With less advance you get less power.

Learn something new everyday! Thanks for the explanation
