Hi
I have recently purchased Seat Ibiza Good Stuff 1.4 60 plate petrol. I filled the fuel up on purchase and the miles on the display said 290 to the full tank. This seemed odd, but I thought I would see how I went. I am a sensible driver, whose journeys are back and forth to work in normal traffic. The journeys are about 15 minutes long and I hit 70 mph for a small stretch of road. The car actually did 310 miles to that full tack, which still seemed low for the cost of £ 55.00.
I put the car into the garage for the mapping to be checked and this came back as fine. They did however say that the car needed a service (which was supposed to have done just before purchase!). The fuel, air and oil filters all need changing, the spark plugs need to be changed and it needs an oil change. I have only changed the air filter at the moment and I filled the car up again and got 350 miles out of it, but I also did a bit of motorway driving with this tank.
I have since filled up again and the display in saying 270 miles, which is so scary for a car that I read reviews on and it is suppose to be highly economical!
If I change the other parts needed will this increase my miles travel to fuel used? Has anyone got experience on how far on average these cars do to a full tank? I have checked the tyre pressures, so is there anything else that I could be missing?
As it stands I can’t afford to run the car and it’s a shame as it’s such a nice drive…
Please help
