The wife mentioned a few weeks ago she couldn't get it open, I thought she was having a baby brain moment (preggers!).

Happened again tonight, and I've gone and checked myself. She wasn't dreaming. It really won't open.

Anyone else had this? Got a few days of diesel left before this becomes a bigger problem!

The car's definitely not locked is it? I made the stupid mistake of locking the car once when I was about to fill it up and had no idea why it wouldn't open... then suddenly realised it was because the car was locked! Felt like an idiot lol!

About 5 degrees here at the moment, and car defo unlocked... made that mistake on a previous car the day i picked it up. Called the guy I'd just bought it from on my way home. Felt like such a tool! :-D

Should I hear a solenoid opening the fuel flap when I unlock the car?

It will be the actuator on its way out have a search on here, happended to quite a few people me included.
It will start to do it intermittently then one day it will totally stop.
Happened to me at the petrol station and had to get roadside out who broke the lock open, you can't get at it from inside the boot either.
Had it fixed under warranty.

I'd say get it sorted as soon as you can, think the parts under £20 or if you have warranty get it done asap.

Does your flap lock when the car's locked? Mine doesn't...

Does anyone have a photo of the actuator with the flap open please? Want to see where it is, and how it's attached.

Think I'll be getting busy with a hacksaw blade!

It’s a known issue with Seat. Have had it in both of my Seats. Seat replaced both times free of charge.

So managed to get it open after about 20 attempts of unlocking and locking again.
Given it a good lubing with GT-80.

Noticed mine doesn't lock when closed either.

Been looking everywhere for the revised part number, but so far drawn a blank.

Might try TPS, as they are only up the road.

I replaced mine last week, part was £35 from my local dealer.

Common problem they say.

Managed to get mine opened again without having to break the wee tab on the fuel flap.

With VW as well, I think one of the reasons it fails is that the solenoid operates every time the car is locked/unlocked, if it had a separate button as on earlier cars it would last longer IMO.
