im lying it hasnt, just had another run, however other than the surging the overall response is so much smoother as is the delivery of power in 1st to 4th, bonus! cheers for the advise fellas

i dont think that has been changed since the car rolled out of the factory to be honest, it was original vw part and from what i recall the car has no vag history, its all independant, it looked about 30 years old! i dont think iv ever done such a simple job on a car that has taken 5 times longer than it should of, jubilee snapped, couldnt get them buttons to push down and release the filter, and last but not least its just took me nearly an hour to get the fu.cking jacking point cover to go back on, today is not a loving day between me and the leon, infact its gonna have to give me a really nice ride home to stop me from temporarily hating it!!!!! all done though, thanks again :D

Hi having or had a similar issue....trying to remove the filter. After removing the filter (and some choice words shouted) itcame off but in closer examination the 90o elbow into the fuel filter has slight damage. I have looked online and found the right fitting but I'm not sure what size connector I need....it has two measurements when buying one being a "barb" measurement....can someone point me to the right measurement please.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago with my LCR.
It was still on its original fuel filter as these are not changed as part of routine service at a main dealer.
I had it in at Awsome Gti for service and was having the filter changed. The lad had tried for ages to disconnect the fuel pipes but there was no way they were coming off the filter in one piece, like they were welded to the filter just with 14 years worth of rust.
Ended up changing the fuel pipes aswell, so much easier and think it only cost about £40 more.

Yeah it was ridiculous...cuts all over my hands from scuffing the body trying to pull it off.....I have tried googling to find the correct t diameter for the connector but I cant seem to pin point it. For now I will just be replacing the filter which annoyingly has arrived and no connection to mount it :(
