sorted, 15mins on friday night - looked very "dry" & dusty - cleaned & lubricated - back too normal
much better than the sharp intake of breath from a dealer & the standard fitter response "you need a new one mate..."

Digging an old one up but this helped me. In my case the cable had come loose over potholes. As soon as it was removed it worked again :)

Cheers!

Hi guys, I know this is an old post, but maybe someone can help me. MJ said that the resistor pack commonly fail, so the fan only works on full power. This is exactly what mine is doing. Where is this pack and how do i get it out?

Cheers,

G

Hi my air con stopped working suddenly. It was working until two days ago now and now nothing no air con no heater no air whatsoever. With engine off when I turn the air con on it makes clicking noises behind dash but no air. I removed the panel under the glove box but don't know how to remove the blower motor. How do i remove the blower motor? How many screws and where are they located? Help please

Ok after looking again managed toremove the blower motor it was a bit rusty so gave it a spin and it started up again and it's working. What's the best way to clean it and keep it working so it doesn't freeze up again?

Hi it stopped working again today then when it started to rain car got badly steamed up all windows and no air conditioning or any air even demister wasn't working. Unfortunately I'm a bit busy next few days so will try to remove it again later on week and try to grease it up as per your kind advice coggie. Will let you know how i get on. Thanks for your help much appreciated.

Hi Coggie, well final got some time so managed to remove everything back out and took the motor cover off and put some wd40 and some oil and gave it few spins and the motor loosened up so put it all back together and when I tried the Air Con guess what.........It worked yay!

Well happy nice one for your help!

My blower suddenly stopped working, no whining, grumbling, or knocking - it just stopped.
After reading up on it on this site, I removed it, spun it round a few times, plugged it back in and it worked just fine. Fingers crossed it'll carry on behaving itself for a good long while.
Many thanks to everyone for posting such useful info on this website.

The same thing happened to me. I notice that the retaining screws were already removed so I assume it happened before I bought it over 4 years ago. I applied WD40 and silicone spray grease and it's been fine since (about 2 years ago).
