Gear Change Problem?

Hi there i have a 54 reg seat ibiza fr tdi and im having problems with changing into 6th gear, i try to change and it wont slip in so have to force it, this doeant always happen but happens 60% of the time?

What do you guys recon it might be and how much do you think it is to fix?

Most likely it's just the gear linkage that needs adjusting

aye mate if u have been trying to change to quickly the cables will stretch or move thus causing crappy gear change . mines has dun it twice now

Ok, so is it a job that can be done easy enough or is it a garage job ? Any instructions anywhere on how to do it if you can do it ya self ?

i would get it done professionally as it may require re-alignment of gear linkages...

you shouldn't need to be changing gears lightning quick...the TDi's have enough torque to give you the advantage anyway
