Gear Gaitor help

Any one removed the leather gaitor on the leon?

Ive removed the chrome trim, can feel plastic clips at 6 oclock 4 and 8 oclock press them but the gaitor is not pulling up...

Push the clips towards the gear stick to release

i had to get my gaiter replaced as it was broke. I too tried to remove it on my own and fiddled about with the clips for ages with no joy. Not much help i know but i found it very hard. Seat then replaced the gaiter in minutes so I assume a bit of brute force is needed

Aaaaaargh. well as sugested im gonna try and push the clips towards the stick...

I snapped one of them (Doh!) But that is the correct method
