Hi Guys, does anyone know what size the bolt goes into the gearbox on the dog mount? Previous owner did a bodge and I'm not sure if they used a bolt that's slightly to small or stripped the threads, either way they've welded the head of the bolt to the bracket that goes to the engine, and It's all loose and breaking my exhaust all the time, want to get this sorted!

would measure it myself but I need to buy the bolt (and taps) before I cut the one that's in there out.

You can get them from Seat or TPS for pennies, so would do that.

Only the rear bolts are stretch ones that should be replaced if you're taking them out too.

If it's stripped the thread you may need to slightly increase the diameter?

Yes, I need to drive the car though so am covering both bases first, I'm prepared to drill and tap, but I need to know what size the bolt is so I can get an appropriate sized tap :)

I will be ringing Seat later but hhaving dealt with many other dealer parts desks I don't always trust they know what they're on about...
