Sorry if this problem has been posted before but im pretty desperate for suggestions before I need to take out a second mortgage
I have a Leon FR Tdi with 120,000 on the clock. I was driving to day when there was a clunk/rattle noise I thought something had come up from the road and hit under the car. I noticed then the car had cut out, I managed to free wheel it off the national speed limit and onto the pavement. Restarted it no problems but now when the car is in gear and I take my foot off the clutch nothing!!! Its like it is in neutral but its not. The speedo moves upto about 5mph when you take your foot off and handbrake bleeps as if it thinks the car is moving but its not. It goes into all the gears when you try it but just no drive.
Does anyone have any ideas before I let a garage loose on it?

dual mass flywheel has failed in a big way, thus no drive and engine stopped due to this

Update Diff pin has shattered now needing either new diff or box whichever is cheapest option

If diff is ruined have you thought about lsd?
I mean limited slip diff not the other stuff!!
They make a huge difference, you'll be glad you did.
Take a look through site sponsors.
Oh, and don't pay more than £500.
