Do you mean the mounting on top of the gearbox?
If so then I'd think that you need to raise the front of the car up onto stands, remove the LHS front wheel and remove some of the wheel arch liner fixing screws so that you can access that area.
Then remove the cover from under the car and support the gearbox using a trolley jack and blocks of wood, then remove the battery and its tray unless your battery is in the boot, and remove all the securing bolts.
It seems that you should fit new bolts when you do this job, that mounting has been removed from my wife's August 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS, then lubricated(how/why would VW Group suggest applying copper grease to a shaped/profiled rubber mounting?!), the when I still complained about clunking noises, they replaced it with a stiffer version, your 1.8 will have a different mounting type though.
