ive been reading about and came across things that say some golf gti gearbox's go niceley into the ibiza gti 8v, from what i can gather the mk3 2ltr 8v golf gti box is the best candidate!

so if its not too much hassle i'll prob go for it(and put a nice clutch in while im at it)

anyways question time, whos done it? does it slot straight in? did you encounter any problems with it?

i havent done it yet but gana give it a shot tomorow as my gearbox is nakered found a replacment gearbox off a mk3 golf gti 8v
and gear oil got onto the clutch so that needs replacing aswel!! but ill let u no how it goes

ps: mk3 golf gti 8v, vw vento 2.0 8v GL are the same engines and gearboxes as the ibiza gti 8v!

dont know what mines is, not looked yet! its an AGG if that helps

also the gearbox im looking at has the code CTN2 1094

code will be 020 then. its the same box on the ibiza, mk3 golf gti 8v and the mk2 golf gti 16v. i got the mk2 golf box on mine.
