i love my sport it has a bit of power and is about level with the mk2 8v and does well on the motorway
Haven driven both whilst looking for a new car (then buying a very cheap mk2 tdi) i would definately get the 110 tdi. Its alot nippier and returns good mpg even without trying very hard. Motorway cruising at 70 you can get about 50mpg without a problem which the 1.6 is never going to do. Also the tdi has alot more torque and pulls everywhere with ease. The 1.6 isn't overly quiet either and requires lots of revving to make decent progress.
Mike, you're talking sense mate. Need to try out a 110 TDi asap to be honest. All I need now is another £500 and then wait for a decent one to come along

Mine had 88,000 miles on it when i got it a year ago. It now has 106,000 on the clock and i havent had any real issues with it apart from the dreaded MAF. But i cant really moan as ive done nearly 20000 miles in a year! As for the engine its loud when cold but once its warm it quietens down and the drive is smooth and it always put a smile on my face. Since i've had the car ive put all the cupra kit and interior on it, had it serviced at Seat, changed the brake pads and i think thats it. So not too bad really

No worries mate and yea its the tdi 110 sport. Glad you like it. Wheels were a pain to get searched for ages then ended up getting them for a bargain price!!! It'll be up for sale in 12 months though. I'm saving up for a mk4 tdi cupra or fr. Just cant get enough of the ibizas!!!

take a look at antnee's -i reckon they look a lot more distinctive as they are personally and adding the black roof is just auto pron
AMC's 110 sport is running around 190bhp, and has plans for more power

i've got a 1.6 sport and id recommend getting one, there hard to find becuase they didnt make as many as they did the 1.4s and the cupras. theres a few on pistonheads at the moment, i saw a black one for 800 quid, it was for sale by somebody who cant spell so i wouldnt trust that advert too much!!

God I am soo tempted atm, trying to work as much shifts as I can... I could wait another 3 months say, but as it stands (Sorry for bumping the thread up again) - could I get a TDi 110 Sport for about a max of £1.5k or would I have to shovel out a bit more and wait till before xmas maybe? ... Aaah! thanks!

hi, i was in a similar position 2 years ago. Had a good look round and decided upon a 03 plate 1.9 tdi sport 130 bhp. group 7 insurance £125 tax a year and does 55 mpg +. on top of this it's as fast atleat as a lot of boy racer cars out there. one of these should be well within your price range. you won't regret it
