This is standard now, I'm not looking for a 2002 Cupra that's sold for £5k for example :p...

Just want a general idea of how much I could get 2 - 3 different types of Seat Ibiza Mk3's for, budget of about £1.5 - £2k.

First of all - the 1.6 Sport. I know that mileage is an issue - but say between '99 and '02, how much could I be looking at for a decent one? When I say decent - I mean something with about 50 - 70k miles on the clock, pretty clean and pleasent.

Secondly - the 1.9TDi Sport - same kinda specs expected (exception to the mileage mind, as I'm led to believe that they clock up much better, so I wouldn't be put off by 90k), someone give me a price range on that maybe?

Thirdly - might be a little ambitious, but has anyone seen a standard 1.8 20vT Cupra between £1 - £2k maximum?... (same applies to the others above)

Let me know guys. I understand that cars on this go for quite a high price, and I understand that, we're all car enthusiasts, and if I had the money - then I would spend, and appreciate why you charge that much for all the mods and effort gone into it. But I'm looking for them pretty standard, as I am now at 19, 20 soon, alloys, a nice backbox and a few extras are mods as far as I'm concerened... at the moment :)...

Thanks! Any replies would be much appreciated, anything at all - even if it's a suggestion or slightly off topic... :)

*Don't tell me to wait though ;), I need a car pretty soon, preferbly a TDi, I'm really impressed with Nan's Golf TDi, so that kinda economy would really suite me, needing to travel down to Cardiff in the next coming months etc* :)

Feel free to let me know anything!

not to sure on the price m8 but i bought my cupra from north wales and the 110 miles to pick it up was a 3 and a half hour drive each way as i had to drive through brecon then up through the country and around snowdon it turned into 160od miles wont be doin it again tho lol altho were a few good roads but i was 2 tired to test them out good luck tho m8

For your budget I'd only look at diesels

The 1.6 Sport is crap
The 1.8T for 2k, will also be crap (or going to cost you a lot)

100bhp of 8v slowness?

020 weak gearbox, no leather, not so much power, drum brakes?, TDi110 was a lot better (once remapped)

Don't take offence, but for the money there are better cars out there

wow :p haha, fair enough M0rk, I'm still looking around for either a TDi or a 1.6... any sites you could recommend, nothing much on pistonheads or fleabay atm... :/

hmm that would be an idea... didn't think of that. Just thought I could get some prices togethor on this that's all. Anyone willing to admit how much they paid *aimed at 1.6, TDi owners* :p

There's 8 Sport 1.6's on Autotrader (and three diesels)

TBF they aren't that slow, about same as a saxo VTR, corsa 1.4 16v, tad slower than mk5 fiesta ZS.

the 020 box you refer too, do you mean as in DUU? I think the Seat DUU boxes were built differently to the VW DUU boxes, as they are alot less prone to go (thats what a gearbox specialist told me). Mine was squeaky clean after 91000 miles, oil was still clear!.

leather isn't good for going round corners and annoying in hot weather IMO. Standard brakes are fine, not amazing when pushed, but not many standard setups are!

Antnee - how many miles do you do on a full tank in your 1.6? How many miles is a full tank on a TDi? It's like 627 on dad's Sharan! NUTS!... just wondering :)

Erm, not sure really. Tend to spend about 10-15quid a week on fuel so I only put that in. I would probally be getting 250-300 to a tank and thats with a heavy right foot (exhausts fault really as it sounds so good :) )
