Ghost Windows

ok so i have had my leon fr since brand new since last Jan and already having ghost windows in the rear passenger side, i try to close it and it goes up then stops and comes bk down, it did it many times the other day, as i dnt really use the rear windows i dnt know if this was a one off or not, has anyone else had ghost windows like this? my old TT used to do it all the time so im guessing its common amongst VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda cars???? is it worth having it looked at? not a major issue just a pain in the arse when u fork out for a brand new car!! would this be covered under warranty?

Yeah - the rubber seals just need to be widened slightly.

Its winding up and because there is friction from the seals being too tight, after a certain amount of force needed to wind it up, the motor thinks there's is something stuck (like a kids head) so winds down as a safety feature.

This can also happen from vibration whilst driving on a rough road or even air pressure like you get from the booming when you have the rear windows open on their own. Also I have seen this when parked and you rais the window as a passenger shuts the door. The shock from shutting the door sends the window into auto safety reverse.

The rubber seals on the windows are getting sticky and hard from time to time (which is more apparent to the rear windows that aren't used that often) making hard for the windows to slide freely. The latter makes the sensors think that there is something obstructing the window from closing (e.g. a person's hand or neck) and thus for security reasons it goes back down. Clean the seals or lubricate them with silicon spray. In some cases replacement is needed.
