golf mk4 V5 lambda problems

My dad has a golf V5 mk 4 and has a dash warning light illuminate. i scanned for fault codes and identified the following. I'm guessing theres a leak in the down pipe or the oxygen sensor needs replacing. can someone tell me how many probes a golf has and which one is this fault code referring to. cheers in advance.

The V6 has 4, 2 before the CAT and 2 after. I would assume the V5 is the same. However, either the pre or post cat could be faulty, and it could be knocking the other one out and giving you a spurious code. Is your car overfuelling/under fuelling? Any other symptoms ie juddering

In fact just re-read that. Theyre both Bank 1, which I believe are in front of the CAT. Have a look on http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/default.aspx mate, its worth it.
