well i am regrettably telling you my time here is now done.

as you may have seen i was looking at Citroen C4's for a more economical factor and the deal i got was to good to turn down.

basically an £13000 09 plate car for £11000. its done 3370 miles and has cheap tax and insurance.

i pick it up Saturday.

im gonna miss the seat so much. love owning that car and like all cars went through our ups and downs together but i loved her all the more. the nail in the coffin is when saving for a house you having to put £110 fuel in a month to do 500 miles something has to give. noticed that i was getting between 18 to 27 mpg on the 4 mile run to work which is the city center of norwich.

maybe one day ill be back in the seat scene. i really like the Leon and if a DSG came up cheap well you definatly will see me again :)

thanks to every one who helped on here and making me feel welcomed and the laughs that we had especially in the photocomp contests.

ill be about for a few weeks yet as im striping the forge front and rear strut braces off tomorrow and hopefully getting the Rear ARB off too. think i still have the standard Cupra suspension in the shed just missing top mounts and what ever other stuff they used on the coilovers.

speak to you all soon

bye!!!

Smee

a shame mate...you should have gone for the FR or Cupra TDi with remap - just had my P-Torque stage 1 and getting 55-62mpg in London...mostly minor roads and stop-start. much improved from struggling to reach 42mpg on standard map

hopefully see you back in the realm :)

Being a vulture, let us know when the suspension bits are posted up for sale.

Also, i honeslty think you made the wrong decision witht he C4, but thats my opinion. the only person i know who recently bought a C4 and was pleased with it was a mate who bought a C4 rallycross car, the rest of them, just too french. I give it a year before its sold....lol and your back in a SEAT....lol

can't say i see that...have re-read the post and nothing...

if he's only getting 500 miles out of 2 tanks of fuel and between 18-27mpg's in town then i'd say he had a petrol Cupra

please correct me if i've missed somethin

mate...sorry to hear. but yes on standard maps very short journeys do hit around that, but average 250 miles to a tank :censored:...am i right thinkin you didn't get it mapped? have browsed through the build thread and not found a mention

once the TDi's are mapped economy of normal driving over any distance is much improved...maybe doing this could have pursuaded you to stay...not forgetting increased power, better delivery and driveability ;)

anywho...all the best to you matey

Diesels dont do well on short trips, takes along time for them to get up to temperature compared with petrols. I averaged 48mpg on my 17 mile commute this morning, steady driving. No remap yet :D.

steal this post all you like.:) i have a ptorque map on it.

like kahn said. onces its warmed up and running shes happy but she doesnt warm up in 3 miles im at work before the needle even moves lol

Front and Rear Strut braces Cleaned just waiting for the camera.

all Items are for sale with No price. gonna do an auction style highest bid wins... if the mods will allow me lol

i will say this ANY ONE interested in Both front and rear at the same time please PM i will split if required but for easy sake of posting it will be better done as 1 package.

1 more question the rear ARB.... is it worth anything without the 2 longer bolts that go through bottom of rear suspension?

if not ill leave it on if these 2 longer bolts are easy to get hold of for some one ill remove it.

Well Saturday I picked up the C4. Thought I write and tell you all about it.

Left home at silly o'clock in the morning as I stupidly had left my spare key at my mums. It also didn't help that it had snowed over night which meant I had to make my last drive the in Seat a rather slow one. After the long slow drive to Slough I signed the paper work paid the cash and handed over the keys to the Ibiza. I was walked to my new Citroen C4 and I have to be honest I was a little sad to see the Ibiza go but once I saw the C4 that all changed. The C4 is a pretty looking car and so comfortable to drive..

The 150 mile trip home was so effortless. For a 1.6 HDI engine it is rather poky and at motorway speeds has a lower RPM than the Ibiza. I was a bit worried when trying to move from the middle to the fast lane of the M25 as I didn't think the power was there but a pull on the flappy paddle and a down shift later it easily picked up speed to handle life in the fast lane. This was a BIG worry of mine as over taking power for lorries is something that not many people take in to account.

The steering wheel has everything you need on it cruise control is a blessing I don't know how I ever managed life with out it and the EGS system although not as refined as the DSG it is a rather impressive bit of kit. After about 10 miles I had the gear changes down to a tea. The auto mode again just effortless and will make my city driving to work something to enjoy again. And with the added features of Auto Dimming Rear Mirror. Auto Wipers and Auto Lights just make life so easy. Also as of April tax drops to £30 for the year which is just stupidly low. Along with the misses Ayro we can tax both cars for a year and go out on the town for for the night on the change lol

all in all 100% happy with the C4 :)
