I'm sure if they're set to the right depth they would be fine, they look like they need a bit of adjusting.

I think the camera can sometimes make them look brighter than they actually are. I'll be getting some soon, but the 4300k.

The same one's you linked me? Mine arrived and they seem good so far, can't see much difference between this "high quality" one and the crappy one I bought from eBay but we'll see soon.

It's not so much the brightness as the glare off a reflector lense, HID's should be in projector lenses. I agree that a camera pic makes them look worse than in real life but they do look like they have a lot of glare coming off them, not a sharp beam at all.

There's one way to notice the difference...either put a standard bulb back in or put a standard H7 Hid in and compare the difference. I could do a trial at home on a spare set of lights in the garage...got all the bulbs so easy to do....just have to use the iphone which isn't a great quality photo.

Im debating to buy some myself or not. The standard reflectors with even osram night breakers are just utter clart. i need a solution. is it not straight forward enough to swap the light fittings themselves for projectors?

Standard OEM are a pain, but you need to open them up, install projectors, add shrouds, and add halos etc. ( optional extra) and then seal back up....easy if you've done it quite a few times!

my car is a seat altea, found this page while trying to look fo rother peoples hid kits. i have 2 pics ill upload. first is my car with osram silverstar h7 halogen bulbs.

the second is my car with 35w h7r 5000k hid kit from hids direct. i got the ultra kit from them for £40

to look at head on there isnt much difference especially in a photo. these pics were taken in the same location at the same time of night 1 day apart. the light output though from the hid kit is miles better. as far as i can tell there is no glare to other road users. time will tell. i am taking it for the beam pattern to be checked tomorow but it was adjusted in december with the halogens (not sure if that will make a difference) i wouldnt have done the retrofit if h7r bulbs werent available. and i went for 5000k bulbs because i didnt want to draw unnecessary attention to myself. there is a leon near me who must have 6000k or maybe even 8000k hids in his car and i have seen him drive past police with no problems. personally i think the crisp whiteness of the 5000k bulbs is the best option, afterall i was after the best light over how they looked. the lights themselves look white to look at the headlight, but cast a slight blue on the top edge of the beam.
