Well, after 3 1/2 years and 26,000 very happy miles I have moved on to pastures new.
I'd been doing that thing I'm sure we all do from time to time; surfing the net spending pretend money and wandering if various cars could ever replace the Leon we all love.
I'm a big fan of VAG products and had always admired the Audi S3 - having a couple of kids, the Sportback was on the list of possibles.
Before I knew it I was sat in the Audi showroom about to test drive an Ibis white demonstrator.
The Audi has a top quality interior, the model I was driving had been well treated on the the options list including panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats etc.
After a 25 minute blast around motorways and back roads the beautiful Audi had seduced me enough to do the numbers with the finance man.
I decided to buy the car I test drove - Registered in July 2011 been carefully run in by a nice Audi salesman
It has the superb semi auto flappy paddle gearbox option
Not long afterwards I'm driving back to work knowing me and the Cupra were about to part company.
I picked up the car on Thursday evening having not told anyone what I had done.
My kids nearly fell off their bicycles as I drove into my road, my wife stood on the doorstep and said 'I hope that's not yours'!
I didn't really post too much on here but I would like to thank all the guys who spend a lot of spare time running the site, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying they do a top notch job.
The Cupra was one of the the best cars I have ever had - it never let me down, the engine was superb, brakes were sharpish but excellent; I really will miss it in lots of ways, but being a petrol head and being in a lucky position to spend my disposable on cars, the time had come for a change.
I will always follow the SEAT brand with interest and will look forward to the new Mk 3 Leon when it appears.
Thanks for reading my ramble
